Significant coincidences

The other night, as we were out and about in Paddington, I heard the sweetest sound. It was, of course, a John Denver song -- Annie's Song, that classic tune. A lovely street musician was playing it on his pan-whistle-recorder-flute instrument.  I do not exaggerate here -- I was moved.

This afternoon, we saw a family of three on the tube. They were dressed in red. The man's t-shirt had a wee maple leaf and CAN on the left breast. Our radar went up. Turns out the woman had bought the shirt in Toronto when she was working for the Pan-Am Games. The family is actually from Richmond, Virginia.  So what, you ask?
Hello, that's where The Waltons are from.

Just sayin'.
